Finishing the race

Almost a week later, my legs are just about getting back to normal so it’s probably time to document my second Dublin marathon. In some ways there is not much to say: I finished, 13 minutes quicker than last year; it was a glorious autumn day, perfect running conditions; I had a great time; I walked like a zombie after it. Myself, only faster

Tonight was 10 degrees, felt like 8, and nice and dry so I got out the door before I talked myself out of it. I went a different route which always helps and it was nicely leaf-free. I was probably a bit over-dressed for the temperatures but it didn't slow me down. I am kind of amazed at the times I am running at these days - less than a 10 minute mile for me without particular effort is not usual. Why couldn't I have done that in the marathon??

Tomato- face weather

Not much to say tonight, am really tired but did 3 nice miles in the dark. Was 11 degrees, felt like 9, so was a bit tomato-faced after it, but who cares. Need to get out when the going is good.

Road testing new gear

Another cold night in Dublin - 4 degrees, felt like 3, perfect for running. I bought some new running leggings in Lidl the other night and they made their debut on the streets of Clonsilla this evening. Sadly, they won't be showing their face around there again. While they look nice, they were not supportive at all, and wouldn't stay up. By half a mile I had to stop and pull everything up and tuck it in, which is never a good look in public.
