Brexit means?

I hardly know what to say after watching the news from Parliament – Brexit is a total mess. Once it doesn’t interfere with my half-marathon next week I don’t care for now. My biggest concern about the whole thing was my race number getting lost in the post but the Brits organised that part ok and my number came yesterday so I am definitely going now!

The only good thing about working weekends is the time in lieu earned, so I took two of them yesterday and today. I actually feel really tired after everything but I did go out this morning for a recovery run and it was nice, though still windy here. I changed my route to avoid the wind – the trauma of Saturday was still with me. It was cold, 6 degrees felt like 0, but I warmed up by the end in the sun. I am in a bit of a taper period now, will do 6 miles on Saturday and that will be the last long run. I need to start packing and deal with the practical stuff before we travel.

The race actually starts and finishes near the Houses of Parliament in London so that adds an extra dimension. In reality, I feel very sad about Brexit. It’s a terrible shame. However it’s not over yet.

  1. Glad you are back running!

    • Thank you! You have been doing some great running yourself. What is next for you? I need to do a bit of speed work before I head to London just to keep my stamina up

      • My season is long. I hope to reach level 2 in the Marathon Maniac standing, by running 6 marathons in six months. My first one will be next month.

        • Wow! Maniac is right!! I suppose the more you do the easier they get, just a matter of keeping up the training
