A good start

Tuesday nights are focused on speed and pace. It’s to help our stamina and speed and prevent us getting bored. It probably does all those things, and gives me the biggest red face. But I enjoyed it. There are numerous options for a speed run but I chose the simplest to get started: run out at normal pace for 20 minutes and then turn round and run home faster. And that’s what I did. Strength and speed 1

First proper training run for my half in March tonight. My running coach calls it a ‘strength and speed’ run; it’s basically a kind of tempo run I guess, designed to make one run faster than usual and help avoid boredom. And it did just that actually! There are several options - tonight I did 3 miles: half a mile slow, then half a mile fast, repeated 3 times.
