Summer in Ireland

I'm posting these photos to remind myself that summer does occasionally happen in Ireland. This was last Saturday on the Old Rail Trail in Athlone - the old disused railway between Athlone and Mullingar. It's where I did my virtual marathon last year, and I absolutely love it there. A different way

It’s a long weekend here and I have to work tomorrow so a run was scheduled for today. I decided to go a different direction than I normally do, as I am rather sick of my usual routes. Will have to get over that though. It makes sense to run around the neighbourhood and not to waste time driving places for short runs. A fine evening

It was a lovely evening in Dublin and I was determined to go out, so I didn’t dilly-dally like I normally do when I got home: was out the door within 15 minutes of getting in after work. A record! I did 3 miles and was home again for the 8 o’clock news on the radio. I even got down on the floor and did some proper hamstring and piriformis stretches. And a side plank. Am on fire!
