Back to work

I didn’t run at all last week. I actually thought I was getting corona virus last Sunday – had a pain in my chest and felt a bit fluey so I put in a few worried hours praying it wouldn’t get worse. It didn’t thankfully, but I decided I should look after myself last week just in case, so I didn’t run. I didn’t go out much at all, only for shopping and up and down to my mother. And I’m fine with that.

So a new working week and back to my new routine. Two lovely miles and I might try and build on that next week. It’s quite enough in the mornings to run on the road and avoid walkers. And the weather is lovely. It’s good to be back.

Good to take care of yourself… glad you’re not a Covid Statistic.
Not only for the obvious reason, but also because I’m not sure I’d ever be able to live up to your “I had Covid and I still run, what’s your problem?” Motivational messages afterward 😀

    • Thanks! I don’t think I would have advertised it even if I was crazy enough!! I think people think runners all have it anyway.

It seems people in Ireland have weird hangups — here in CO, it’s not at all weird to see runners; and no one seems to give it a second thought.

It’s rarer, but not even really strange, to see runners out in the cold and snow during the winter…

What’s the deal? Is it just during this hysteria, or do they always hate runners?

        • No it’s just now, people feel runners run too close and are spreading plumes of disease. But it’s not only runners who pass too close. However there are people running now who never ran before so they are a bit poor on etiquette

Ah, okay. I’ve had my own issues with people who don’t understand the etiquette, too, so I get it.

Do you have to run with a mask?

          • No not yet. I think as soon as they have enough masks they will make us wear them. I got my own cotton masks but I only use them for shopping

Glad you are OK. There were several times I feared I had it. I have been blaming all my illnesses on COVID. Two Sundays ago, I had a stomachache and I was telling my friends that I had it, but I was all fine couple days later. We don’t have enough tests here, so no one really knows if we have it or not. I know, COVID is mainly a respitory illness, but there are a lot of weird symptoms too, like black toes! For me though, it was probably I had too much sodas the night before.

    • There are so many symptoms it is hard to know! Yes I’ve seen the black toes, people get upset stomachs, no fever. Same here re testing, so we don’t know! I think it probably would last for a while though- after a few days I was ok too.
