Post quarter-end

I didn’t run at all last week as it was our quarter-end and year-end at work, so we were extra busy. I had to work all over the weekend, and late, but in many ways it was much better being at home for it. No travelling, could get dinner, and no big bosses flapping around having panic attacks and making themselves seem important. Sacrifices

I did two miles before work this morning on another beautiful sunny day in Dublin. I did two Wednesday morning as well. I was extremely hot and sweaty after it. Good job I didn’t have to put on makeup and leave the house! We are so lucky the weather has been largely very good since the lockdown started; I think people would be totally off their rockers by now otherwise. Joy in a pandemic

I ended up drinking half a bottle of lovely pink wine last night. Running after alcohol is not always a great idea, and I don’t do it on serious runs. It doesn’t help with the weight loss either, but there has to be some joy in a pandemic. And it was a beautiful evening. Anything is possible

Forgot to write up my run from yesterday, four miles, which is the furthest I have gone in a while. Time to extend the distances in preparation for marathon training. It was busy enough out but manageable. I did run round in circles a bit but I’m used to that and just wanted to get the miles in.
